Spring Work Day
We come together to care for the church grounds and building on our work days, twice a year. Our Spring Work Day is happening May 17th! We'll work from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. While it's hard work, it's also a chance to enjoy the fresh air together!

Youth Group Service Opportunities
Our Youth Group serves together on a monthly basis! In May, we are serving at our church-wide Spring Work Day. Then, Saturday, June 13th, we will serve at Northeast Arc in Danvers, MA, leading a bingo game for those in their programs!

Lenten Offerings
In addition to the 12% of all our offerings, we have special offerings during the Lenten season. This year, these offerings will help support clean water with Liberia Mission Outreach International.

The Mission of the Month for April is Compassion International. With over 65 years of serving children in the Name of Jesus, this child advocacy ministry pairs compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty in over 25 countries. Sponsoring gives a personal connection and also helps to relate the children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty.

Colby grew up in Windham and worshipped at WPC, and is now Director of Philanthropy for InterVarsity. He'll be developing relationships with high-capacity ministry partners in the Northeast US and working with them to fund the mission of InterVarsity at a high level.

AARON STETSON

HopeForce, a disaster relief organization, endeavors to become a leading volunteer response force, bringing hope to those affected by crisis or disaster. Aaron serves as Disaster Response Coordinator, leading deployments to areas hit by natural disasters. Along with reconstruction support, they also provide emotional and spiritual care. Prior to HopeForce, Aaron served as Youth Director here at WPC for 10 years.

LAZARUS HOUSE MINISTRIES – LAWRENCE, MA – is a privately funded faith-based organization whose aim is to provide what is needed most by families and individuals facing material poverty, homelessness and food insecurity in the areas of Shelter, Clothing, Advocacy and Community Resources. Currently, WPC collects and delivers new and used clothing, small items, etc. to the Lazarus House Thrift Store. Classes are offered by women of the church in using a sewing machine and following a pattern.

Founded in 1992, it is a joint outreach of WPC and St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers, the pantry serves over 100 families weekly providing each with one or two bags of groceries, personal/health items and seasonal vegetables.

Pray for all the families who are served at Shepherd’s Pantry and for the Pantry to be continually stocked to help provide for the some of the needs of these families.

FAMILY PROMISE OF SOUTHERN NH – NASHUA, NH - their mission is to guide families through safe housing and education, as they rise out of homelessness to sustainable independence. For over 15 years they have helped homeless families and parents achieve the skills they need to change their futures forever. Every other month, a group of faithful cooks prepares a meal to feed all the families in residence. -
Pray for the families they serve that they would learn the skills they need to move on to their own home and independent lives.

This is a Christian faith-based prison fellowship. The mission of Kairos Prison Ministry is to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families, to become loving and productive citizens of their communities.

PLACE OF PROMISE

PLACE OF PROMISE – LOWELL, MA – is an adult long-term residential program for people with drug/alcohol addictions. Residents focus on knowing God and entering into a growing relationship with Him. Today they have 4 residential homes: Men’s Level I & II, and Women’s Level I & II. In Level I they focus on God, healing, relapse prevention and life skills. In Level II those skills continue while the residents return to school or enroll in job training.

Pray for this program which allows them to come alongside the men and women and spend the necessary time with them as they rebuild their broken lives.
JIM & LYDIA O’LEARY

For over 15 years the O’Leary family, in conjunction with the Believers’ Meeting, have welcomed those who are broken, addicted and/or hopeless to their home, providing shelter to over 100 men, women and children. Their mission is to see transformation in the individual lives, to bring people to a full understanding of their value as human beings and to have the knowledge that God loves them!

Pray for those who come to the doorstep of the O’Leary home, that they would come to know that their life matters, and that God loves them.

Tom Johnson

Tom Johnson serves as director of Equipping Christian Leaders Among French-Speaking People Groups. Starting in N. America & the Caribbean, this role has been created in the hope that Christian leaders will be identified, equipped and deployed into the work of starting and strengthening churches for gospel work and mission.

Pray for Tom as he trains these Christian leaders in reaching French-speaking people groups and that they will become equipped to share the gospel with their communities.
Frontiers

These anonymous missionaries serve at a great personal risk. Their primary focus is Bible translation into local languages. They also help train new field workers who will share the Good News so that hearts and lives can be transformed by Christ in the most unreached places on earth.

Pray for guidance and protection during trips to Asia, and fruitful recruiting and mentoring of the next generation of Christians sharing about Jesus with Muslims.

ounded in 1990, FHC is an evangelical Christian ministry that funds a residential care program for homeless children with special and normal needs. Their goal is to lovingly care for at-risk children until they can be reunited with their birth family or placed with an adoptive family. FHC will also remain the permanent home for some who are unable to be adopted.

Pray for these beautiful children that they can be reunited with their birth family or placed with a loving adoptive family.
Hanna Massad

started in 1991, Pastor Hanna’s ministry in conjunction with the Gaza Baptist Church helps to support 900 refugee families both Christian and Muslim in Jordan and Gaza. They pray with the refugee families and help each one with as many needs as they can meet. Hanna speaks of how so many of these families are full of faith, faith when facing death, faith when all hope seems lost, faith when that’s all they have to hold on to – only God!

Members of WPC sponsor over 100 children living in poverty, especially in Rwanda, Haiti and Latin America.

Gilbert Kubwimana

Gilbert K. leads a ministry bringing Jesus’ love and healing to children with disabilities and their families. They help to create opportunities for their education and development by reducing challenges they face as victims of ignorance and poverty.

Pray for LWA to bring these children out of the shadows of rejection, shame, and neglect and into the light and nurture of God’s love.
Henry Peabody

Henry was forced to leave Liberia as a young man and spend 7 years in a Ghana refugee camp. Through God’s grace, he was able to come to the US and after many years knew that he wanted to help his native country. LMO, founded by Henry, is an international, Christian ministry called to the task of evangelizing, providing assistance such as wells for safe drinking water, school buildings and discipleship to the underprivileged people of Liberia with the message of hope and plan of Jesus Christ.

Pray for Henry and the people of Liberia as he continues to bring the love of Jesus Christ to them with new well and school construction.
Jim McGill

Jim McGill is the facilitator for Water and Sanitation, Hygiene (WASH) programs in Niger and S. Sudan. He is a strong participant in these rural areas and an effective advocate for the health of its people by ensuring sustainability for clean water and sanitation at both community and user levels.

Pray for Jim to reach many communities with his WASH program, and while 95% of Nigerians are Muslim, that they would be open to the Gospel.

Shalom is a Christian ministry whose core purpose is to reconcile people groups through the love of Jesus Christ. They are able to reach people from communities in Rwanda and other nations through their 3 programs: Healing & Reconciliation, Community Development and Environmental Protection.

PRAY FOR God’s love to continue to guide & enable Shalom to successfully impact these communities holistically.

Since 2000, The Apple of God’s Eyes Program has been working on the rescue of girls from very poor families or on the streets who had been trafficked into sexual slavery. As time went by, their siblings who were found in death risk conditions were also rescued. With their vision of compassion & hope, today there are 4 homes with 160 children, scholarship programs and opportunities for these children to live in dignity, developing their talents, abilities and dreams.
