"Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men"
WPC reaches out spiritually and physically, locally and around the world, from the Wings of Change and Shepherd’s Pantry in Windham to support of missionaries and programs in Haiti, Rwanda, Ecuador, Lesotho, and other countries. In addition, members support dozens of children through Compassion International and similar programs, and members volunteer their time to projects such as Lazarus House and the CareNet Pregnancy Center.
COVID causes Food Shortage for Local Families – You Can Help The number of local families without enough food is growing weekly due to hardship caused by COVID-19. The Lazarus House Food Pantry is looking to the community for assistance. They are currently providing emergency food supplies to as many as 1,000 families each week. Their goal is to continue to provide food to anyone who is hungry and comes to their door.
To support the need, we (WPC) are sponsoring the following event:
Drive-Thru Food Drive: When: Saturday, September 19, 9am – 12pm Where: our parking lot
How it Works Just drive in, pop your trunk, and the Lazarus House staff will move donations right into their truck. If you’re unable to shop, financial donations will also be accepted and used to buy food.
Who You’re Helping Lazarus House supports people in the Merrimack Valley, including southern NH. The recent increase in need is significant. Driven by hunger and unemployment, more people are turning to food pantries to feed their families. Hardest hit are single mothers with young children and the elderly living on fixed incomes. When their resources shrink, they eat smaller portions, skip meals or sometimes run out of food altogether.
Most Needed Items at this Time · Canned Tuna or Chicken · Canned Vegetables · Pasta – All types · White Rice (1lb bag or box) · Macaroni & Cheese · Canned Ravioli & Spaghetti · Canned Spaghetti sauce · Canned Soup · Peanut Butter · Cereal in a Box · PLEASE…NO GLASS JARS or SOUP IN A CARTON.
