Volunteer
Opportunities
Please contact
Kristi St. Laurent at the church (432-2150) or email Kristi@windhamchurch.org.
This service
that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's children but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to
God. 2 Corinthians 9:12 (‘children’ inserted for ‘people’)

Kids’
Worship leader |
Welcome
kids, emcee for 2-3 worship songs (video-based), offer
short prayer to send kids off to Sunday School. This is 15 minutes
long, starting 10 minutes before service. |
Solo
or duo, give it a whirl! If it is a good
fit, pick a schedule (month, once a month, every-other-week). |
|
Teacher |
Lead
teachers for each workshop. The same lesson plan is taught, with
age-modifications, to a different class each week. Specifically we need BDZ
(computer and game room) teacher for first service; Thou Art! Studio and
Desert Drama teachers for second service. |
Each
set of lessons is a “rotation” because the kids “rotate” through the
workshops. Workshops are typically 4,
but sometimes 3, weeks. First service
teachers teach each of the 3 or 4 weeks.
Second service teachers lead for two weeks. |
|
Shepherd |
Consistent
person/duo to bond with and model Christian life for one group of
children. The classes are divided by
grade. Our biggest need is for 1st
grade, first service. |
Sign
up for half or full year. This is a
good role for couples or “duos” so that if one can’t make it, a familiar face
is still available to the students on Sunday morning. |
|
Substitute/co-teacher |
Fill in
for lead teacher on scheduled Sundays away and/or co-teach lesson or classes
(ie: kindergarten) that could use an extra
leader. Or, volunteer to be available
as substitute if a teacher is unexpectedly unable to teach. |
As
needed. If you are interested in
pairing with one of our consistent full-time teachers (Thou Art! and
Marketplace first service, BDZ and Marketplace second service) or a
consistent part-time teacher (Drama first service, every-other-week) you
could provide reliable backup to a specific workshop or teacher. |
|
Special
Sunday Coordinator |
Plan,
staff and implement Sunday morning program for holiday and special
services. These may be holidays (like
Christmas) or odd Sundays between holidays (ie:
between Christmas and New Year’s Day).
It also includes the Children’s and Youth Sunday in June. Assistance provided by CE Director and CE
Ministry Team. |
3 – 4
Sundays per school year |
|
Sunday
School Superintendent |
Point-person
for teachers and shepherds to turn to with issues on Sunday Morning. Collect attendance envelopes. Answer Sunday School questions of visitors
who bring children, assist with registration if needed. |
Second
Service |
|
Road
Crew |
OK,
we don’t travel. However, each Sunday
requires setup of tables and chairs.
Most importantly, the movable partition in the Senior/Jr High room needs to be closed before Sunday morning and
opened after first service. It is
notoriously temperamental and needs someone willing to learn it’s idiosyncrasies.
|
Set
up (close) “The Wall” Friday evening or Saturday. Open
“The Wall” after first service each Sunday. |
